I would like to introduce you to Kim.
She is this tiny little thing.
Looks like a gymnast.
She is relatively new to our BCC fitfam. Kim joined BCC last November.
I asked her to share with me her goals and her struggles. She shared other programs did not generate results, and, left her feeling horrible and insecure.
She talked about nutrition. She shared her realness and her relationship with food. Sounds like one most of us have. I loved what she had to say about it, especially the part, well, I’ll let her tell it.
“I started BCC in November 2016, so I am still relatively new to this, but I absolutely love it.
I've decided to let my attitude and clothes dictate my success rather than the scale. When they say that 80% of weight loss is food control, they're not lying (unfortunately).
Lori has us use My Fitness Pal to log our meals and snacks. There have been several times where I want a snack and I look up the calories and end up deciding on something different to eat, as what I wanted was insanely high in sugar, sodium, calories, etc.
Don't get me wrong, there are times where I eat it anyway and love every second of it...it's called moderation. However, for me, using the app allows me to decide what I want and when to eat it.
I may have to run through a drive-thru for lunch in between meetings or for dinner in between activities for my kids, but you know what? I balance it out. In my first camp (3 weeks long) I lost a little over 9 inches. Finally, I was seeing results.
I wanted to keep going and signed up for the next session and I just signed up for the March session as well.
It's definitely a challenge. There are many times when Lori or Victoria will show a move or explain the workout for the day and in the back of my mind I'm thinking, "Yeah, that's not going to happen...," but you know what? It does. It may not look as graceful as when they do it, but we all do the workout and all leave feeling better than we did when we walked in.” -Kim
My favorite is, “I’ve decided to let my attitude and my clothes dictate my success”. Best.Line.Ever.
And, I also love Kim gets the moderation thing. It is not about denying ourselves foods we want, it’s about eating them in moderation.
Thank you, Kim, for sharing your story with us. And, by the way, you do look GRACEFUL when you do the exercises. Kinda like a gymnast :)
Smiles,
Lori
If you found this to be helpful, we would love it if you would share it with your friends.
Now get out there, and keep going for your goals one step at a time. Invest in yourself!
Hoo-Aah!
