Did I ever tell you I get sentimental on the fourth of July?
There’s just something about ‘Merica’s birthday that gets me.
And I’m thinking maybe they subliminally put that in me when I joined the army.
It seems after I became a soldier it became mandatory to weep on the fourth of July and the beginning of ballgames when Old Glory herself passes by.
I don’t know if other vets get like that, but me and my husband do.
But we also like to PARTY like it’s 1999 on America’s birthday.
And it is one of our fave holidays because it’s a hot holiday, there is grilling, we get our peoples to come over, there are cocktails… I just love it!
But I do have to be honest about my parties.
Several years ago, I sneakily bought salmon instead of brats when I went to the grosh... (grosh = grocery store- you know I love abreves!)
My husband was a bit confused, and my friends thought I had totally gone rogue.
But when the initial shock wore off, everybody actually loved the salmon, and now it has become a tradition for our fourth of July grill outs!
So today I put together a little video for ya about how to eat healthy on the fourth while still indulging in some birthday treats.
I'll teach you not only how I grill my salmon, but how you can continue to make your fourth of July low in calories so you don’t hijack your nutritional plan during Merica's birthday party.
And if you have any Fourth of July favorite recipes or tips, be sure to comment below and share the love!
If you found this to be helpful, we would love it if you would share it with your friends.
Now get out there, and keep going for your goals one step at a time. Invest in yourself!
Hoo-Aah!
