I cannot believe I have to get in a swim suit NEXT WEEK!
Yep, I’m heading to Mexico the first week in May and I’m totally excited! However, because of my reality check of putting my mighty glutes back in a swimsuit, I’ve been on the “Mexico diet”. What is the Mexico diet, you ask? Well, it is actually eating all my fruits and veggies, my lean proteins, journaling errday and only drinking ONE glass of wine!
And, get this! I was with my friends, Becky and Joanna this past weekend, and they totally tried to sabotage me with CHOCOLATE CAKE!
But it didn’t work. I’m on a mission to feel great in my swimsuit and my husband is going to be like, “Lors, come herre!”
Do you ever feel like when you are on a mission to lose weight, everything around you is working against you?
Well, I get it and I’m going to share with you the 3 tricks I used to get my body smoking hot for Mexico in just a couple of weeks.
These tricks are super simple but very powerful. They gave me the willpower to say NO to my friends this weekend and to stay the course of looking good. (Oh, but I did still enjoyed ONE wine. Cuz that’s a fruit, right?)
1. Meal Plan.
Sounds daunting, but would you believe it is actually SUPER SIMPLE?!
Go grab your phone. Do it. (Unless you're on it reading this right now. Then keep reading first and then come back to this step!)
Then open up your notes section.
And then, right down your grosh list! (Grosh = my abreve ((abreviation)) for grocery store!)
Write down all the meals you want to have this week, and the ingredients you will need to make said meals.
And be detailed!
2. Go to the Grosh!
What good is a grocery list if the items don't get bought?!
So right now, on your calendar (digital, hard copy, however you schedule your life), write down when and what time you are going to the grocery store.
I know, I know. You are thinking, I don't actually have to write that down. I'm going Tuesday after I pick the kids up from soccer practice.
But wait just a second... is that actually realistic? Are your kids going to be starving and cranky because they just "worked" all day and now the last thing they want to do is go to the grosh with you? If so, maybe schedule this 30 minutes later after you get them home and fed.
My point is, make this a realistic date on your calendar, and stick to it!
3. Food Journal!
You knew this one was coming.
It is the hardest, most complex, suckiest part of this whole gig.
You have to journal your food.
Here's why: 80%ish of the losing weight struggle is about what you put in your mouth!
So, here's a tool that we have found that is super helpful in journaling food:
MyFitnessPal is a super cool tool that we use to journal our food. It's easy to navigate, and it has all the tools you will need to stay on track of your nutrition. And you can make recipes! Gather all the ingredients from your delicious and healthy meal that you made, input them into a recipe in
MyFitnessPal, and then that recipe saves as a food and you can journal it! And the great news is once you create the recipe once, it's in there and you don't have to recreate it!
