One of the questions we receive all the time is this:
"I want to do some awesome BCC workouts on my off days, but I don't know how. It is so dang hot!!"
Even though summer time can mean some hot temps, it doesn't mean you can skimp on your workouts.
But how do you workout when it is so dang hot outside?
And, even if it isn’t as hot as hades, what are the top 4 critical tools to use to work out safely and effectively?
Here’s our top 4 list. Collect these and head on out to get your workout on. Hoo-Aah!
1. Clothing choices are critical.
Cotton is rotten, ESPECIALLY in the heat. Choose a material that is wick-a-away and dry fit. Spandex/polyester are great choices! And with active wear being a huge trend, these materials are easy to find. You'll want to pick exercise clothes that are breathable and protect your skin from chafing.
2. Sunscreen is your bestie.
Don’t let the clouds fool you. The sun wants you, and it can get you even through the clouds. Put on a layer of sunscreen to protect your skin and you won’t regret it! Also, don’t let that cute little baby on the front of the sunscreen bottle keep you from putting it on. No shame in SPF 50.
3. Cooling towel.
Uhh wut? It’s a light weight towel that you can get wet and snap to start cooling you down. Don’t have a fancy, snap cooling rag? Try a wet rag or towel to wipe sweat away to keep you dry.
4. Stay hydrated.
Uh, duh. This one is a given. Drink tons of water when working outside, before, during, and after your workout. Regarding electrolytes/sports drinks: it’s recommended to drink water if you are exercising for 60 minutes or less. If you are working out beyond that, look to start refilling up on electrolytes.
And that's it! There are your 4 simple, but critical tools to keep you working towards your goals despite the heat. So don’t let the heat or fear of the great outdoors keep you from working out!
And if you have any critical tools for exercising outside, be sure to comment below and share the love!
If you found this to be helpful, we would love it if you would share it with your friends.
Now get out there, and keep going for your goals one step at a time. Invest in yourself!
