What kind of recipe combines the delicious taste of chocolate AND red wine to give you great heart health and make your taste buds happy?
Dark Chocolate and Red Wine truffles!
Dark Chocolate and Red Wine Truffles
Ingredients
1/2 Cup Heavy Cream
8 Ounces bittersweet chocolate, baking bar (cacao 60%)
6 Tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
1⁄2 Cup red wine, cabernet sauvignon
Cocoa powder
Directions
Cut up chocolate and put into a medium sized bowl.
Heat up cream in a pan and bring to a simmer.
Stir in the butter gradually until melted.
Pour cream over the chocolate. Use a spatula to stir until chocolate melts.
Add the red wine and stir until wine is mixed in. (We prefer a cabernet, but you can choose what you like best!)
Pour into an 8x8 dish and allow to chill in refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
Use a metal spoon (ice cream scoop, melon scoop, etc.) to scoop out a truffle.
Coat your hands in cocoa powder and form a ball with the chocolate mixture. Finish by rolling a coat of cocoa on chocolate ball.
Keep refrigerated until you are ready to serve.
Serve and Enjoy!
